Can you tell me a bit more about Knysna Woodworkers?
Knysna woodworkers is a small family business based in Knysna, South Africa, with Johan Nel as its founder and craftsman. He has enjoyed furniture-making and other woodwork all his life. He has now racked up over 40 years of experience and is an expert in his field.
What items do you manufacture?
We manufacture anything from wood, including custom made furniture (tables, seating, cabinets, kitchens, bars, etc.), unique doors, staircases, flooring, luxury wooden boxes and much more.

What woods do you use?
We use only the highest quality solid woods for our products. Which one(s) depend on your personal taste, needs, and the conditions the item is expected to be used under.
What areas do you service and deliver to?
Just about anywhere! We are based in South Africa but our products can generally be supplied anywhere. We have happy clients around the world, including South Africa, the United States of America, Canada and Europe. Please inquire and we will check and confirm that we can deliver to your particular country.
Do you keep stock?
We typically don’t keep much stock. Rather, we specialize in bespoke wood-craft. In other words, a client gives us a specification of what furniture or wooden item they want created, and we design and custom make that item specifically for them, according to their needs.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! We have recently introduced payment plan options to help enable anyone to obtain the furniture or custom wooden item of their dreams.
How do I acquire a quotation and/or order something? What is the process?
The easiest way is to find pictures of things similar to the item(s) you want created and email those through to me, along with size requirements and any other specifications you should want, such as wood, colour or texture.
Please look through my website to find something you like or find a picture anywhere on the internet, just to let me know what you’re looking for.
If you already have detailed specs drawn up for the product, that is welcomed, but not necessary. I just need a good idea of what you’re looking for and I can do the rest.
If you don’t yet know what you want, we can help by sending you various ideas based on your needs.
Once we have arrived at a solid concept of what you want, I’ll send a quotation through, along with the estimated time it will take to complete the project. During the project you will receive detailed progress pictures, so you can see how we’re doing and if you’re in the area, feel free to pop in!
